A portrait in jewel colour, built from broad strokes rather than fine ones, with a peacock feather set against the blue. Krishna is devotional in subject and modern in handling — the palette does the reverence, the brushwork keeps it alive.

The original is a hand-painted work by the artist behind The Tint Therapyy. This is the India edition: the same painting, reproduced as a fine-art print and set in a slim wooden frame, made and shipped from within India so it reaches you in days rather than weeks.

Where it hangs well

Strong colour wants a quiet wall. Against off-white, pale grey or unfinished plaster it becomes the only thing in the room worth looking at, which is the point. It suits a prayer corner, a stairwell landing, or the end of a hallway.

Care

Keep out of direct, sustained sunlight. Dust the glazing with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid hanging in a bathroom or against an outside wall that sweats in the monsoon.
